Οι νεοναζί του Πούτιν

Μέλη του «Ρωσικού Αυτοκρατορικού Κινήματος». Διακρίνεται η σημαία τους, με χρώματα μαύρο-κίτρινο-λευκό, εδώ στολισμένη με τη γνωστή νεκροκεφαλή των SS (Totenkopf).

Πολύς λόγος έχει γίνει τις μέρες αυτές για το διαβόητο «τάγμα Αζόφ», τη γνωστή νεοφασιστική ουκρανική παραστρατιωτική ομάδα και τη δράση της στο Ντονμπάς. Βλέπουμε πολλές αναφορές στην ομάδα αυτή, συχνά σε μία προσπάθεια να δικαιολογηθεί η ρωσική εισβολή με το γνωστό επιχείρημα της ρωσικής προπαγάνδας, που θέλει τους Ουκρανούς να είναι ένας λαός… νεοναζιστών! Για να είμαστε ειλικρινείς, όμως, η σπουδή των οπαδών της Ρωσίας για το τάγμα Αζόφ και τα εγκλήματά του, φαντάζει κάπως μονόπλευρη, αν αναλογιστούμε την πλούσια παρουσία του νεοναζισμού στην Ρωσία.

Η πιο γνωστή νεοφασιστική οργάνωση της Ρωσίας είναι το «Ρωσικό Αυτοκρατορικό Κίνημα», με έδρα την Αγία Πετρούπολη. Η οργάνωση αυτή διαθέτει και ένα παραστρατιωτικό τμήμα, την «Αυτοκρατορική Λεγεώνα», καθώς και ένα στρατόπεδο ονόματι «Παρτιζάν», στα περίχωρα της Πετρούπολης, όπου παραδίδει κανονική στρατιωτική εκπαίδευση στα μέλη της. Την ώρα που όσοι αντιπολιτεύονται τον Πούτιν καταλήγουν… στο χώμα ή στη φυλακή, το Ρ.Α.Κ. είναι ελεύθερο, όχι μόνο να λειτουργεί, αλλά και να εκπαιδεύει μισθοφόρους στο στρατόπεδό του.

Στις Η.Π.Α., πάντως, η οργάνωση αυτή έχει επίσημα συμπεριληφθεί στον κατάλογο των τρομοκρατικών οργανώσεων[1].

Το στρατόπεδό της, πάντως, έχει γίνει πόλος έλξης πολλών νεοναζί από δυτικοευρωπαϊκές χώρες, που έχουν την ευκαρία να αποκτήσουν στρατιωτική εκπαίδευση και να ισχυροποιήσουν τους δεσμούς τους με τους Ρώσους ομοϊδεάτες τους. Εκεί είχαν εκπαιδευτεί, π.χ., οι Σουηδοί νεοναζί Viktor Melin και Anton Thulin, του «Κινήματος Νορδικής Αντίστασης», πριν επιστρέψουν στη Σουηδία και κάνουν μία σειρά βομβιστικών επιθέσεων. Είναι ειρωνικό, αλλά στο ίδιο στρατόπεδο εκπαιδεύονται ακόμη και μέλη του γερμανικού νεοναζιστικού κόμματος NPD![2]

Είναι προφανής η χρησιμότητα των παραστρατιωτικών ομάδων σε μία πολεμική σύγκρουση, καθώς μπορούν να αναλάβουν τη «βρόμικη δουλειά», χωρίς να εκτίθεται απ’ ευθείας ο τακτικός στρατός ή η κυβέρνησή τους.

Έτσι, ο πόλεμος στο Ντονμπάς είδε την ανάμειξη παραστρατιωτικών ομάδων και από τις δύο πλευρές. Αν το τάγμα Αζόφ είναι έγινε γνωστό για την εγκληματική δράση του στην περιοχή αυτή, το ίδιο συνέβη και με τους νεοναζί της Ρωσίας, οι οποίοι στελέχωσαν τις δυνάμεις των αυτονομιστών. Τον Απελευθερωτικό Στρατό του Ντονμπάς ενίσχυσε τόσο η διαβόητη ομάδα «Βάγκνερ», όσο και το Ρωσικό Αυτοκρατορικό Κίνημα, το οποίο έστειλε το 2014 στο Ντονμπάς την «Αυτοκρατορική Λεγεώνα» του, με 100 περίπου ένοπλους. Ήταν τόση, δε, η αγριότητα των ομάδων αυτών, ακόμη και εναντίον των ντόπιων Ρωσόφωνων, που μέχρι το τέλος του 2015 θα αναγκαστούν να αποχωρήσουν από τις περιοχές των αυτονομιστών[3].

Η δράση της Αυτοκρατορικής Λεγεώνας συνεχίστηκε και σε άλλες εμπόλεμες ζώνες, καθώς ένα τουλάχιστον μέλος της φέρεται να έχει σκοτωθεί στον εμφύλιο πόλεμο της Λιβύης[4]. Οι ρωσικές παραστρατιωτικές ομάδες αναλαμβάνουν συχνά να κάνουν τη «βρόμικη δουλειά» του Ρώσου προέδρου, όχι μόνο στο Ντονμπάς, αλλά και σε κάθε μέρος του κόσμου, όπου διακυβεύονται τα ρωσικά συμφέροντα, από τη Συρία μέχρι τη Λιβύη και προσφάτως και το Μάλι, όπου η Βάγκνερ «έπιασε δουλειά» αμέσως μετά την αποχώρηση του γαλλικού στρατού.

Όσο για την ομάδα Βάγκνερ, δεν χρειάζεται να πούμε πολλά. Αρκεί η φωτογραφία του ιδρυτή της Dmitry Utkin, πρώην μέλους των υπηρεσιών πληροφοριών του Ρωσικού Στρατού (GRU). Σε μία γνωστή «σέλφι» του, φαίνεται ότι είναι τέτοια η αγάπη του για τα SS, που έχει φτάσει στο σημείο να κάνει τα εμβλήματα και τα διακριτικά της στολής των SS τατουάζ πάνω στο σώμα του!

Δίπλα στους Ρώσους νεοναζί, όμως, υπάρχει και μια ολόκληρη στρατιά νεοναζί ανά την Ευρώπη, που φαίνεται ότι είναι επίσης ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμοι στον Πούτιν. Μην ξεχνάμε ότι εκλεκτικές συγγένειες με τον χώρο του ευρωπαϊκού νεοφασισμού έχει και ο πολύς κύριος Ντούγκιν, ο πρώην σύμβουλος του Πούτιν και θεωρητικός του Ευρασιανισμού, που εισηγείται την απομάκρυνση της Ρωσίας από την Ευρώπη και τη συμμαχία της με την Κίνα, τον Ισλαμικό κόσμο και την Τουρκία.

Σήμερα, είναι εντυπωσιακή η φιλορωσική στάση των περισσότερων ακροδεξιών ομάδων και κομμάτων της Ευρώπης, η οποία αποτυπώνεται και στην στάση τους στον πόλεμο της Ουκρανίας.

Από την εκπαίδευση στο στρατόπεδο «Παρτιζάν» και τη στρατολόγηση διτυκοευρωπαίων ναζί ως μισθοφόρων για τον στρατό του Ντονμπάς, μέχρι τις πυκνές επαφές ακροδεξιών κομμάτων με τον ρωσικό παράγοντα και την ιδεολογική ηγεμονία απόψεων, όπως αυτές του Ντούγκιν, ο ρωσικός παράγοντας έχει καταφέρει να διεισδύσει στην ευρωπαϊκή Ακροδεξιά χειραγωγώντας έναν ιδεολογικό και εγκληματικό χώρο που όσο περνάει ο καιρός αποκτά όλο και μεγαλύτερη επιρροή στις ευρωπαϊκές κοινωνίες.



Δεδομένης της δράσης των ακροδεξιών ομάδων, είναι προφανές ότι κύριος στόχος της «σύμπλευσης» δεν είναι παρά η αποσταθεροποίηση των ευρωπαϊκών κρατών.



Αν, λοιπόν, επιθυμούσε ο Πούτιν να γίνει σταυροφόρος του αντιναζισμού, θα όφειλε αν μη τι άλλο, πριν αρχίσει να ισοπεδώνει ξένες χώρες, να ξεκινήσει την «αποναζιστικοποίηση» από το δικό του το «μαγαζί».

Pavel Yuryevich Gubarev (Russian: Па́вел Ю́рьевич Гу́барев, pronounced [ˈpavʲɪl ˈjʉrʲjɪvʲɪdʑ ˈɡubərʲɪf]; Ukrainian: Павло Юрійович Губарєв; born 10 February 1983) is a Ukrainian pro-Russian activist who proclaimed himself the "People's Governor" of the Donetsk Region at the Regional Assembly on 3 March 2014, after separatists seized the building. Gubarev had earlier declared himself leader of the Donbas People's Militia.[5] Since then, he has been sidelined by other separatist leaders and was banned from taking part in the 2014 Donbas parliamentary elections.[2] These elections also eliminated the post of "People's Governor".[2] Gubarev was not a major figure in local politics prior to the beginning of the 2014 pro-Russian conflict in Ukraine.

Putin’s Neo-Nazi Helpers

Russian TV has a new hero, “elected” by the people and persecuted for his beliefs by the new baddy regime in Kyiv. Pavel Gubarev is certainly pro-Russian and, as of March 6, in custody, but his neo-Nazi background, seemingly shared by some of his most vocal defenders, makes him a curious choice. The Kremlin, after all, claims to be fighting what it labels the fascist hordes, not supporting them.

A Donetsk small-time business man and head of the “People’s Militia”, Gubarev took part in a big demonstration on March 1 in Donetsk during which he was supposedly elected “people’s governor”. On that and subsequent days Gubarev led crowds in storming the Donetsk regional administration building, hanging a Russian flag. On March 5 pro-Russian activists are reported to have attacked EuroMaidan activists on Lenin Square. The police say that about 10 people from both sides were injured, with three needing to be hospitalized.

Gubarev, claiming to be the people’s governor, demanded that the regional authorities oppose the new Kyiv administration and that a referendum be held on whether the oblast should secede or otherwise change its status. He also directly called for Russian military intervention in the oblast.

He was detained on March 6 and at the application of the SBU [security service] remanded in custody for 2 months. The SBU are charging him with violent acts aimed at overthrowing the authorities (109 § 1 of the Criminal Code) and seeking to undermine Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty (110 § 2). They have included a charge of seizing a public building (Article 341).

The Russian media mention only this last charge which they note was not brought against the pro-EU integration protesters in Kyiv who seized the Kyiv City Administration building and others.

This is just one of many geographical differences in presentation of these and other details. A popular Ukrainian blogger says that Gubarev was close to the local Party of the Regions people, and was earlier involved in organizing paid rallies and the party’s PR campaigns. On March 1, after a number of lacklustre addresses, Gubarev got up on stage and said what the audience wanted to hear. The author believes that this was a reflection of what he calls their “fascist, chauvinist views” based on Russian, great-state nationalism. “For just that reason the audience liked Pavel Gubarev. In the past he was a member of the fascist organization Russian National Unity.”

By declaring himself governor, Gubarev doomed his pro-Russian rebellion to failure. Instead of the promised 50 thousand people the following day, there were only around 5 thousand. Most were from Donetsk and the oblast however the most aggressive, the blogger believes, were probably from Russia. “The skinheads dressed uniformly were clearly not local. Here shaved heads and bomber jackets have long gone out of fashion with those on the right.”

Whether Gubarev was given reason to believe in Russian intervention of a military, rather than motley marginal nature is not clear. Certainly the benefit to the Russian propaganda machine of Gubarev the martyr seems far in excess of any uses as "people’s governor".

The state TV channel ORT calls him “the governor proclaimed by decision of the city residents themselves”, while NTV goes all out to present Gubarev as representing the people in battle with oligarchs, suggesting that the “February coup in Kyiv” was also of an oligarch nature. “The security service took custody of the people’s governor as if he were an especially dangerous terrorist, not bothering to observe the legally stipulated procedure”.

TV news broadcasts are ideal propaganda tools. Nobody asks for claims to be substantiated, and even if a viewer felt suspicious, switching channels in Russia would change only the presenter, not the lies and manipulation of information. Nor will you hear the facts mentioned above that make this choice of hero exceedingly strange.

Gubarev was a member of the neo-Nazi, Russian chauvinist Russian National Unity movement, and judging by his address on March 1, this chauvinism has not changed. According to reports in the Ukrainian media, Russian nationalists with xenophobic and far-right views may be involved in the separatist movements in Donetsk and the Crimea. A member of the “Other Russia” party led by National Bolshevik leader Edward Limonov, Rostislav Zhuravlyov is believed to have negotiated with the SBU attempting to obtain Gubarev’s release. Other members of Other Russia are currently being recruited as volunteers for the secessionist moves in the Crimea , while Igor Azar, a Russian journalist, asserts that Alexei Khudyakov from the migrant-bashing Russian organization “Shield of Moscow” is also helping Gubarev.

None of this is illegal, but it is surely worthy of investigation given the claims made by Russian president Vladimir Putin that his country is protecting Russian nationals from the “orgy of nationalists, extremists and anti-Semites on the streets of Kyiv”.



The western media has returned over and over again to certain topics, such as the role of the rightwing in the Maidan movement, claims of anti-Semitism, etc, especially with respect to the VO Svoboda party and Pravy Sector. However many times the claims are compellingly refuted, not least by prominent Jewish organizations, Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi, and others, journalists continue to dredge them out, reporting them as vague "fears", "concerns", etc..

One likely reason is that the Russian media, via major press agencies, are easier sources of information than Ukrainian media. Journalists thus miss the moving account given of the funeral in Chernivtsi of Aleksandr Shcherbanyuk, one of the Maidan defenders killed by Berkut police snipers on Feb 21. After prayers were read by the Rabbi, Pravy Sector members and police officers honoured the slain Maidan defender with a salute.

And they miss the obvious questions that should be asked when Russian TV is creating heroes out of motley neo-Nazis. With Putin’s use of “anti-fascist rhetoric” to justify real military intervention in Ukraine, the lack of attention to this is truly baffling.

German neo-Nazis trained at Russian camps: report

Militant right-wing extremists in Germany are receiving combat training in Russia, a German news magazine has reported. Officials say they cannot prevent them from going.

Right-wing extremists in Germany are participating in paramilitary training at a special camp near city of Saint Petersburg in Russia, German news magazine Focus reported Friday.

Members of the youth wing of Germany's extreme-right National Democratic Party (NPD) and the minor right-wing party The Third Way have completed the training, the report said, citing German intelligence sources.

The participants received training in how to use weapons and explosives. They were also trained in close combat, the magazine said.

Swedish and Finnish nationals are also among the trainees. Participants go on to join Russian militias active in eastern Ukraine.

The "Partizan" camp is run by followers of Russia's right-wing extremist Russian Imperial Movement (RIM). German intelligence believes RIM has two camps close to Saint Petersburg. The organization seeks the restoration of the Russian Empire.

The US recently added RIM to its list of global terrorist groups. The group had "provided paramilitary-style training to white supremacists and neo-Nazis in Europe," the US said.

Russia responded at the time saying that adding the group to the list did not help fight terrorism and that the US had not provided any details.

Moscow also considers the movement of the ultra-right-wing Christian Orthodox Russians to be extremist. However, the group is not banned in Russia.

German intelligence is aware that extremists from Germany are attending the camps. For legal reasons however, they cannot prohibit the travel to Russia, Focus reported.

Officials assume that Russian President Vladimir Putin is aware of the existence of the camps.
