Η εισαγγελία του Βερολίνου έκρινε σήμερα ότι οι δηλώσεις που έκανε πέρσι ο Μαχμούντ Αμπάς για το Ολοκαύτωμα, κατά την επίσκεψή του στη Γερμανία, παραπέμπουν σε υποκίνηση φυλετικού μίσους, όμως δεν θα ασκηθεί ποινική δίωξη επειδή ο Παλαιστίνιος πρόεδρος χαίρει διπλωματικής ασυλίας.

Η αστυνομία του Βερολίνου είχε ξεκινήσει έρευνα για «υποψία υποκίνησης μίσους» τον Αύγουστο του 2022 έπειτα από δύο μηνύσεις σε βάρος του Αμπάς, σύμφωνα με τις οποίες ο Παλαιστίνιος ηγέτης «σχετικοποίησε το Ολοκαύτωμα» στη συνέντευξη Τύπου που παραχώρησε από κοινού με τον Γερμανό καγκελάριο Όλαφ Σολτς. Το συμπέρασμα της έρευνας που ακολούθησε ήταν ότι ο Αμπάς διέπραξε το αδίκημα της υποκίνησης σε φυλετικό μίσος όμως επειδή έχει ασυλία δεν είναι δυνατόν να του ασκηθεί δίωξη, ανέφερε η εισαγγελία στην ανακοίνωσή της.

Όταν ρωτήθηκε για την επίθεση της παλαιστινιακής οργάνωσης «Μαύρος Σεπτέμβρης» στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Μονάχου, το 1972, όπου σκοτώθηκαν 17 άνθρωποι, εκ των οποίων οι 11 Ισραηλινοί, ο Αμπάς συνέκρινε την ισραηλινή πολιτική απέναντι στους Παλαιστίνιους με τη γενοκτονία των Εβραίων από τη ναζιστική Γερμανία. «Από το 1947 μέχρι σήμερα, το Ισραήλ διέπραξε 50 σφαγές σε 50 παλαιστινιακές πόλεις (…) 50 σφαγές, 50 ολοκαυτώματα και ακόμη και σήμερα καθημερινά υπάρχουν νεκροί» λόγω των ενεργειών του ισραηλινού στρατού, απάντησε, προκαλώντας κύμα αντιδράσεων, κυρίως στο Ισραήλ και τη Γερμανία.

She became known as the lady in red and was one of the most hauntingly iconic images from the October 7 massacre.

A young woman, running for her life, fear etched on her face as twisted Hamas gunmen targeted the Nova rave festival in the early hours slaughtering at least 340 and taking 40 people hostage.
